In this class we explore more of the details of our multidimensional nature. We also develop the understanding of the purpose of some of the different practices in yoga. Everything that we hold within our being on the many levels is hiding our true nature, our true self. Much of the practice of yoga is trying to remove those obstacles so that our true nature can shine unhindered and express through our being.
The first step to creating any change, and in this particular case to creating better wellness for ourselves is to have a vision. That means as well that we must be ready to change ourselves. We have to confront the reality that if I am looking for some kind of change in my life then I must be willing to change my habits, perspectives, and way of living. That was the focus of our first session in our Weight Loss for Wellness Program.
The true scope of Yoga is not widely known. Many people only know yoga as a physical activity. But this is only because of modern media and culture.
Yoga is a deep life subject. It is about the evolution of man towards something greater. This evolution is not external in the way we think of the evolution of species. It is the transformation of ordinary consciousness towards higher consciousness. It is said that there is a path of yoga for every person that is alive. For each person holds an inner potential of something truly great, truly miraculous, and that transcends the physical.
We will explore three themes in this program: personal vision, conscious eating, and conscious activity. These three themes together provide us the vehicle for transforming our weight in a balanced way to help us achieve better wellness.
